Scrapbook Challenge #4

It's time for another challenge. This week's challenge is to use your stencils... dig them out and have fun.

There are many ways to use stencils in scrapbooking, and with mixed media's influence and techniques you can really have fun. Combine your stencil with ink, paint, texture paste, gel medium, pen or pencil. You can also mist through them... the ideas are endless.

Here are a few projects from our design team to show you what is possible.

So come along, play with your stencil and then show us your creation.

Scrapbook Challenge #3

So have you had fun over the last month trying your hand at ScrapMixing? I was thinking about this during the week and for me Scrap Mixing is evolving into using more than one technique or item on a page... really using up what we have on hand to create a layout and a memory.

Today's challenge is: Use your stash of RIBBONS

The idea is that you want to use more than one ribbon on your work of art.Bonus if you use them in a unique way.  Here are some ideas to inspire you:

Scrapbooking Challenge #2

It's time for our second challenge here at Scrap Mixers... this week we are tackling Stamps.

Challenge: Use 3+ stamps on a project

Description: If you're anything like me you will have a stash of stamps just as big as your pattern papper that we used in our last challenge.... well now is the perfect time to haul them out and use them. Choose at least three and stamp on your project... you can use them for a background, and embellishment, texture, title or just wording.... no restrictions at all, just use them.

To spark off your imagination, here are some examples from the team:

Remember to post a link to your blog with your layout... can't wait to see your lovely stamps in action.

Scrapbooking Challenge #1

Welcome to our very first scrapbooking challenge on Scrap Mixers... I am excited to be part of the team and to challenge you to use up your stash, to create a layout and to think outside the box.

Challenge: Use 6+ pattern papers on a layout

Description: We all have a stash of pattern papers, well let's use them. I challenge you to use AT LEAST 6 different pattern papers on a layout. Add as few or many photos as you would like.... really it's just about making a layout with lots of paper. Think squares, strips, circles.... wherever your imagination takes you.

Theme: What does Scrap Mixing mean to you?

This could mean that you scrap a photo of you, or your scraproom, or those everyday memories or even simply using your stash. We are really about being open to creativity and using what we have on hand.

To spark off your imagination, here are some layouts from the team:

Cathy
For me scrapmixing is all about using what's on hand... I used 13 different pattern papers on this page, as well as flowers, stickers, buttons, bling and washi tape.

Astrid
why I scrapbook: It's so important to create and preserve memories.
(You would have seen more about this layout in the simple tutorial posted last week.)

Tynke
I made a LO with my favorite color: Pink! I made a budget-Lay-Out, with some greyboard, watercolours, some pieces of free wallpaper, pages of a book and music paper as designpaper. That is also scrapping for me, go outside in 'normal' shops and find some things you can also use for scrapping!

tip: don't be afraid to use your  own  writing
the focus in this challenge is  what Scrapmixing mean to you,  so I found this  sentiment in a  magazine which said
"Art is not what you see,but what you make others see"

So now that you've been inspired by the team, go gather your supplies and create a layout. Leave us a comment here with a link to your layout before the end of the month.
