About my style: My scrap style is constantly changing and evolving. When I first started a decade ago, I simply stuck a few pictures and stickers on paper, then added a bit of journaling. A couple of years later, I joined Scrapbook.com, and met my dear scrap buddy Gabrielle. I loved the way her photos blended so beautifully into her layout. They were so whimsical and beautiful! I adopted (stole) many tips and techniques from her, and my style evolved immensely. Fast forward even further, to today, and my ever growing interest in mixed media (thanks to my beloved friend Lizzy Wurmann G.) is slowly integrating itself into my pages. Though my style is ever changing, a couple of my scrap interests remain constant: dimension, texture, chipboard, flowers, and my own handwriting- usually on journaling strips. Oh, and of course, photos of my loved ones. I look forward to learning and evolving even more through the friends I meet and the challenges we endure here at Scrapmixers!
Why didn't I think of that?

I love mixed media, drawing, stamping, pretty much all paper crafting mediums.  I am a widow of 11 years and have two grown children.  I love the out of the box concept as I think I excel in those types of projects.  I like trying and developing new techniques or adding a twist to existing ones as so many techniques are out there!  I co-own a challenge blog that runs on the concept of creating in any media form the odd and unusual things. A new challenge starting out is an exciting event and having started ours last April  in a matter of 3 weeks, I know it is possible to be successful with something you put your heart and time into and have a passion for.

Astrid de Beer-Logtenberg

My name is Astrid and I’m from the Netherlands, I am married and have a 9 year old son and two step kids. I always have been creative for as long as I know. In 2004 I found a scrapbook magazine and I was amazed by what kind of materials you could buy, I started searching the internet and I was completely hooked ! I started creating with some photo’s of my step kids, but I quit for a while during my pregnancy, after my son was born in 2006  I started first with digital scrapbooking but after three years I thought it would be nicer to create a real baby album for him and that’s where my passion has real started.
Since then I still learning and my pages are still changing looks. I don’t think I have a particular style, it just depends on what photo I ‘m going to use. I lately love experimenting with ink, paint and stamps, there’s so much out there that I haven’t try yet. Since 2013 I have been creating for several challenge blogs, retailers and manufacturers and I love to do it.
I was very pleased to be asked on this team and  I’m sure it will give my creativity a big boost !

Cathy Sanders
Co-ordinator Scrapbook challenge team

Hi happy scrappers, my name is Cathy Sanders and I reside in Johannesburg, South Africa. I've been scrapping since 2003 when my best friend introduced me to this fantastic hobby. I am virtually a scrap-aholic now as much as a chocoholic.... the two go hand in hand. My friends and family will also say that I love coffee just as much as chocolate... these two are staples on my grocery list! I am married for over 20 years and we have one teenage son whom you will see in my scrapbook layouts, as I mainly scrap about him and our everyday events. For me scrapbooking is all about the photos and creating a place to keep the memory. My scrapbook layouts become my photo album. I am sooooooooo looking forward to this new year of fun challenges and ideas to be shared through Scrap Mixers. I can't wait to play along with you. You can see more of my work on my blog at http://whatsupwithcathy.blogspot.co.za/

Lily Goldsmith
Co-ordinator Art journal/mixed media team

Hi there.  My name is Lily Goldsmith, coming to you from sunny Orlando, Florida where I live with my husband two teenagers (boy and girl), two dogs and a fat lazy cat.  Between them they give me a lot to scrap about.  I've been scrapbooking for about 15 years although I did take an extended hiatus.  Now that I'm back my scrapbooking is all about creative expression.  I would best describe my style as a whirlwind.  I get so caught up in creating that I lose track of time and you'll often find me at my desk surrounded by scraps of paper and covered in paint and ink.  My projects often end up taking on a life of their own and going in a wildly different direction than i originally planned.    I wouldn't have it any other way. I love trying new techniques and products.  I try to make every page look different while including several signature techniques that make my work clearly my own. I love challenges and look forward to sharing and growing with all of you at scrap mixers.

Emily Grant

I'm a 21 year old university student from Doncaster, UK.
I've been scrapbooking since I was little. Just this past year I've been getting more into mixed media and it's quickly become my favourite type of crafting. I love to create layouts with lots of bright colours, using paints and inks to highlight different areas of the layout. I like to make a messy background and then bring some control back with borders and papers. I'm a keen photographer too, so my pictures are the focus of my layouts and then I echo the colours in the photograph in the paints and embellishments I use. I'm also an artist, although I concentrate much more on scrapbooking as it is where I seem to be more successful! Scrapbooking is an escape for me, university doesn't take up much of my time so if I didn't have scrapbooking I don't know what I'd do!
I'm currently on the Design Team for Docrafts and I love it. It's great to inspire people and be creative with different products, and also products I wouldn't normally buy for myself. I like to think outside the box and put my own mixed-media spin on their products.

Tynke de Groot

I'm Tynke, 34 years old and I live in the very north of the Netherlands with my 7 year old son.
I work as a caretaker with 'people with special needs' and in a bakery (as a salesgirl and allrounder ;) )

I love, behind scrapping ofcourse, to paint, crochet, cook, read, listen to and play Music, badminton and swim. My biggest quality I think is that I’m often very exited and make other people too, and I mostly look at the bright side of life, even I know it’s hard sometimes. But I have a natural drive to go on luckily..

In my scrapping work I love to play with stamps, dylusions, gesso, modeling paste, masks, templates and other mixed media. My style is mostly called very colourful and impulsive, I usually don't make a plan before. I love to use flowers, twine and charms. And washitape, I love washitape so much! The colours I use are usually bright ones, blue, pink, violet and green are my favorite.
